30 Day Foundations Course

Your Fitness Kickstart!

You’ve decided you want to make a change and invest in your health, fitness, and wellness.
Congratulations! This is a big step and we’re so glad you’re here.

This Course is designed to ease you into ongoing Personal Training and/or group fitness classes or a combination of both!

We offer Foundations in a private/partner/small group setting based on your schedule and needs! Our program is a 6 class course where students new to FH meet with a FH Coach to learn the elements of FH. All the major lifts and movements will be taught from scratch with an emphasis on technical proficiency. These sessions are scaled for your existing skill level.

Taught by one of our certified StrongFirst Coaches, these classes are for first-timers and those with minimal Hardstyle kettlebell, barbell, and functional fitness experience.

Your 6th class is your "Grad Workout" with your Foundations Coach! Our Foundations course is appropriate for most able-bodied adults, and no baseline level of fitness is expected. Each session will cover 3-5 new movements and then end with a workout that can be scaled up or down according to your abilities.

FAQ’s

  1. How does this course work?

    • Each week will focus on new lessons in the form of 2, 60-min sessions with detailed instruction & practice. In the sessions, students will learn the foundations of Hard Style KB training, under the watchful eye of a FH StrongFirst Instructor.

  2. I am new to strength training in general. Is this course for me?

    • If you are brand new to strength training, we recommend you book Private Foundations vs. Group so that you get the 1:1 attention you deserve.

  3. I have done Kettlebells in the past. Do I still need to take this course?

    • Depending on how much experience you have with Hard Style kettlebell training, you may see some things you are already familiar with. If you have trained a different kettlebell style, are picking kettlebells up after a long time, or have less than 2 years kettlebell experience, you will benefit from this course. We dive into a TON of detail with techniques that will clarify what you might not have known or verify what you thought you knew.

  4. I am a little intimidated by Kettlebells due to an old injury. Is this the best option for me?

    • This course is academically focused, meaning we spend our time honing in on safe and proper technique rather than focusing on a “workout pace.” When learning a new technique for example we instruct everyone to take pauses so that reps are done with the highest quality possible. We also help students choose a light/appropriate sized bell to do the task at hand in order to practice the chosen movement in the safest way. During your session, we meet all students where they are at and encourage resting as often as needed when practicing the techniques. We will always help students navigate angles or variations that best accommodate a precious injury or any cranky joints so that the student is always safe.

  5. Foundations Policies:

    • As each kettlebell skill builds on the previous techniques learned, any missed class should be made up by booking a make up session with your Coach so that the student does not fall behind.

Completion of your first 2 classes is expected prior to jumping into group classes. Students will have the most rewarding learning experience when they take full advantage of the personalized coaching they receive in the Foundations Course where the focus is on learning as a beginner before jumping into the All Levels membership where the focus is on fine-tuning.

Cancellation of the Foundations Course can be made within 7 days of the first day of the course with a $125 cancellation fee.

  6. More Questions?

    • Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to speak with a coach with additional questions or concerns before joining in our next Foundations Course. You can ask questions about the course or arrange to speak with a coach by emailing us at: hayley.magwire@gmail.com

  7. When does it start and when are classes?

We run Group Foundations at the beginning of every month. Private or Partner Foundations can be customized and scheduled based on your calendar needs.

  8. Do I need to lift a certain amount of weight before joining this small group?

This Camp is essential for beginners, it’s also for the intermediate and advanced kettlebell enthusiast.
